Pflugerville City Council is due to consider a proposed $495.3 million budget for the 2027 fiscal year at its September 8 meeting.
The item is an ordinance on first and final reading. If adopted, it would set appropriations for city departments and funds and adopt the city’s master fee schedule.
The proposal is based on a property tax rate of $0.5436 for each $100 of taxable value. That is also the voter-approval rate calculated by the Travis County Tax Office from certified values supplied by the Travis and Williamson central appraisal districts.
The budget item does not itself adopt the tax rate. The council agenda places a public hearing on the rate and a separate tax ordinance alongside the budget decision on September 8.
What residents should know
The city charter and Texas local-government law require a public hearing on the proposed budget before it is adopted.
The city says copies of the proposed budget were available for public inspection online by August 7. Notice of the budget hearing appeared on the city website from August 1 and was published in the Pflugerville Pflag and Round Rock Leader on August 12.
The agenda record says the proposed budget includes $495.3 million in total expenditure. It also notes added explanation about the police step plan and market adjustment, identifies departments where personnel budgets assume vacancy savings, and adds detail about city development agreements.
Those figures describe the city proposal before the council meeting. They should not be treated as an adopted budget or final tax rate until the council has voted.
Property owners’ individual bills depend on taxable values as well as the final rate. The city’s budget page and the Travis and Williamson property-tax transparency sites carry the underlying public documents.
The full proposal and supporting record are available in the official September 8 City Council agenda item.
